Florida Virtual School Recognizes Largest Graduating Class in School History on Senior Decision Day
April 30, 2026

This year, 1,499 students will graduate from Florida Virtual High School (FVHS), making the Class of 2026 the largest graduating class in the school’s history.
Florida Virtual School is recognizing its largest graduating class in school history this week as part of Senior Decision Day, a nationwide observance highlighting students’ postsecondary plans as they complete more than a decade of schooling and prepare for life after high school.
This year, 1,499 students will graduate from Florida Virtual High School (FVHS), making the Class of 2026 the largest graduating class in the school’s history.
Observed annually on May 1 across the United States, Senior Decision Day recognizes graduating seniors as they commit to a wide range of pathways, including higher education, military service, career and technical training, and entry into the workforce.
“Preparing students for what comes next is at the heart of what we do,” said Robin Winder, chief academic officer. “By meeting students where they are and supporting their individual goals, we ensure every graduate leaves Florida Virtual School ready to pursue the pathway that aligns with their strengths, interests, and aspirations.”
Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools (FLVS Full Time)
The public school district includes an elementary, middle, and high school. Students are Florida residents who chose a fully online public school experience, taking all their courses with FLVS and following a traditional 180-day school-year calendar, from August through May.
About 1,250 students graduated from FVHS in 2025, which has the fourth-highest high school graduation rate in the state (excluding lab schools, which are public K-12 schools affiliated with state universities).
This year’s FVHS graduating class includes:
- More than 1,499 graduates representing 57 counties across Florida
- 50 students who earned the Cambridge AICE Diploma, an internationally recognized academic credential
- 18 students who completed an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree through dual enrollment with Polk State College and Daytona State College
- 1,454 Advanced Placement (AP) courses completed by 641 students (during the last four years)
- Students earning academic honors, including:
- 289 Cum Laude (GPA 3.500–3.799)
- 181 Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.800–3.999)
- 357 Summa Cum Laude (GPA 4.000 and above)
- 58 students who completed more than 250 hours of community service, including 4 students who exceeded 1,000 service hours.
Florida Virtual School Flex (individual courses)
In addition to FLVS Full Time High School students, more than 24,000 seniors currently taking individual courses through FLVS Flex (as of April 15, 2026) are planning to graduate from public, private, charter, and homeschool programs across the state. These students used FLVS Flex to personalize their learning by accelerating coursework, exploring new subjects, earning credits, or balancing school with athletics, arts, or other commitments.
“FLVS Flex gave our family the flexibility we needed for our daughters to train and travel internationally for beach volleyball,” said Patrick Taylor. His daughters, Brielle and Britain Taylor, will both attend Texas Christian University this fall. “Whether a student takes a single course to get ahead or uses FLVS for their full academic program, the ability to customize learning makes a real difference. For our family, having an option that adapted to our daughters’ commitments allowed them to pursue their athletic goals without compromising their education.”
Florida Virtual Full Time Public School will host its annual in‑person commencement ceremony for Florida Virtual High School graduates on May 29, welcoming students and families from across the state.
Families interested in enrolling in Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools for the 2026-27 school year can apply online beginning June 1. Learn more about other FLVS school options, including individual courses for students supplementing their learning from traditional or homeschool settings.
