Florida Virtual School Graduation Rate Climbs to All‑Time High of 97%
January 23, 2026

Graduates celebrate during Florida Virtual High School’s Class of 2025 commencement ceremony on May 27, 2025, at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando.
Florida Virtual High School (FVHS) achieved a 97% graduation rate for the 2024–25 academic year, the highest in the school’s history, according to a report from the Florida Department of Education. The rate increased by 0.4 percentage points from the previous year and by seven percentage points since 2021-22.
FVHS now has the fourth-highest high school graduation rate in the state (excluding lab schools, which are public K-12 schools affiliated with state universities).
FVHS, along with Florida Virtual Middle School and Florida Virtual Elementary School, comprises the FLVS Full Time Public Schools district, the only fully virtual public school district in Florida. Students take a full-time course load and follow a traditional 180‑day school year from August through May.
About 1,200 students graduated from FVHS in 2025, and more than 20% of graduates earned summa cum laude honors, the highest of the traditional Latin academic honors. The top five graduates achieved GPAs of 4.6 or higher.
“Our students continue to raise the bar for what is possible in virtual education. A 97% graduation rate is more than a milestone; it’s a promise of what the future holds when we pair innovative learning with meaningful support,” said Robin Winder, chief academic officer.
Currently, 4,834 high school students are enrolled in the FLVS Full Time program, and that number continues to grow. The 2025 graduating class was the largest in school history, and this year's graduating class is projected to be even larger.
“The incredible success of our Full Time schools and the continued growth in high school enrollment speak to the strength of our instructional model,” said Katie Santana, senior director of instruction. “Our approach not only meets the unique demands of online education but also demonstrates its power to deliver exceptional outcomes and prepare students for what comes next.”
FVHS teachers and high school leaders continue to find innovative ways to engage students, build meaningful connections, and support academic excellence, building upon the successes of recent years.
FVHS is led by award-winning principal Suzanna Pacheco, who oversees a statewide team of certified teachers living and working in communities across Florida. Teachers provide personalized instruction and one‑to‑one support through phone, email, text, and video conferencing, partnering closely with families to support student success.
During live, interactive online lessons, students receive direct instruction, collaborate with classmates, and participate in academic activities that promote engagement, build connections, and support strong outcomes.
The Class of 2026 graduation ceremony is scheduled for May 29, 2026, at the University of Central Florida in the Addition Financial Arena.
Families who are interested in enrolling in Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools for the 2026-27 school year should apply online beginning June 1.
