Flex Student Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Flex senior Mitchell Spencer Edelstein has been named a National Merit Scholar Finalist, placing him among an elite group of approximately 15,000 students recognized nationwide for exceptional academic achievement. At just 15 years old, Edelstein has been dual-enrolled at Daytona State College since eighth grade. This May, he will graduate with both his high school diploma and an associate degree from Daytona State College

Orlando Science Center to Feature FLVS Student Artwork

“Mission: Astronaut,” the latest traveling exhibit at Orlando Science Center, will feature “Artful Expressions: A Universe of Possibilities,” showcasing student artwork from Florida Virtual School and Florida Scholars Academy. The art will remain on display through April 4.

FLVS Flex student and go-kart racer, Lenox Lockhart, recently placed second at the IAME (Italian American Motor Engineering) USA Grand National Championship, in Mooresville, North Carolina. He has 19 wins, 38 podium finishes, and 40 top-five results over a four-year career.

Flex Student Dominates World Junior Swimming Championship

16-year-old swimmer and FLVS Flex student, Rylee Erisman, had a dominant showing at the 2025 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, as a member of Team USA, bringing home eight total medals — the most of any swimmer at the competition.
