The 2026 Artful Expressions: A Universe of Possibilities student exhibition was a global celebration of creativity, inspiration, and community. Thanks to the incredible partnership with astronaut Nicole Stott, FLVS student artwork was featured in an Earth Day video displayed on the iconic Piccadilly screen in London and showcased alongside the inspiring Space for Art exhibit at the Orlando Science Center.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. At the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Foundation, we don’t just say it. We live it.
As co-chairs of the FLVS Foundation's annual “Artful Expressions” student exhibition and proud parents of FLVS students, we have the unique privilege of experiencing this village from both sides. We experience it alongside our FLVS community as a family, watching our own children grow, be inspired, and find their voices through these opportunities.
This year, “Artful Expressions: A Universe of Possibilities” became something even bigger than we could have imagined. What began as a celebration of student creativity within our community grew into a moment that quite literally reached across the ocean and into space.
Through the kindness and vision of astronaut Nicole Stott, student artwork was featured in a powerful Earth Day video displayed on the iconic Piccadilly screen in London. Watching those images, created by FLVS students, shine on a global stage was surreal. But more than that, it was deeply meaningful.
Because behind every piece of art is a story. Behind every student is encouragement. And behind that encouragement is a village.
At FLVS, that village is made up of extraordinary educators, leaders, families, and mentors who consistently show up for our students. Not just academically, but creatively and emotionally. They create space for voices to be heard, talents to be discovered, and confidence to grow.
That village expanded even further when Stott welcomed FLVS students into her exhibit, “Space for Art,” at the Orlando Science Center. To see student work alongside such an inspiring initiative, one that connects art, Earth, and space, was an experience none of us will ever forget.
And when that same spirit carries across the ocean, onto global platforms and even beyond our planet … it becomes something truly powerful.
FLVS students aren’t just learning. They are creating. They are leading. They are being seen.
From the STEAM Gallery at the Orlando Science Center, to a screen across the ocean in London, to artwork that has even traveled to the International Space Station and the moon.
This is what happens when a village believes in its children. This is why we do what we do.
Because when you give students a platform, when you surround them with belief, when you connect them to a village that stretches beyond borders.
They don’t just dream bigger. They become bigger than they ever imagined.
Students are the future. Not just of FLVS, but of our planet. And it is through the strength of this village, and the partnerships we are so grateful for, especially with leaders like Stott, that we continue to nurture, inspire, and empower them to make a difference.
