Editor's Note: This post is part of a series of posts recognizing the accomplishments of FLVS students during the 2025-26 school year.
Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Flex student West Fowler recently made history, representing Team USA at the World Trampoline Gymnastics Championships in Spain, held from November 6 to 9. At just 17 years old, West is the youngest gymnast on Team USA.
Competing against more than 300 elite athletes from around the globe, West delivered an outstanding performance, earning three medals across multiple events:
- Gold - Team Double Mini Trampoline
- Silver - Team Tumbling
- Bronze - Double Mini Trampoline
West was one of only three athletes at the championship to bring home three medals, a testament to his skill, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
Behind these incredible accomplishments is a demanding schedule. With intensive practices from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m., West relies on the flexibility of FLVS online learning to succeed both academically and athletically. He completes coursework in the mornings and evenings, demonstrating that with determination and the right tools, students can excel in both sports and academics.
With FLVS Flex, families can enroll in individual FLVS Flex courses year-round, giving students the flexibility to pursue their passions while staying on track academically.
Whoops, that's an error!
