Enrollment for the second semester at Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools (FLVS Full Time) opens Nov. 2 and runs through Nov. 18, giving Florida families the opportunity to enroll in a full-time online public school option for the second half of the academic year. Classes begin Jan. 6.

“Midyear enrollment gives families an opportunity to choose a learning environment that best supports their students’ academic and personal needs,” said Brett Cucuel, director of instruction. “Whether students are seeking greater flexibility, transitioning from another school setting, or simply looking for a fresh start, FLVS Full Time provides a structured learning environment with the support needed to stay on track toward their educational goals.”

Midyear enrollment can be a valuable option for students seeking a different learning environment, families adjusting to changing circumstances, or learners who benefit from the flexibility of a full-time online public school setting.

FLVS Full Time Public Schools is the only fully virtual public school district in Florida and includes Florida Virtual Elementary School, Florida Virtual Middle School, and Florida Virtual High School. Students attend scheduled online classes, complete a full-time course load, and learn alongside classmates in a structured academic environment that follows a traditional academic calendar.

“Our teachers partner closely with students and parents to create an engaging learning experience that supports academic growth and builds confidence,” said Ryan Foster, principal of Florida Virtual Elementary School. “For many families, that combination of flexibility, accountability, and individualized support makes a meaningful difference.”

In addition to their coursework, students can participate in more than 80 clubs and extracurricular activities and attend optional in-person events, field trips, and meetups held throughout the state. These opportunities help students build friendships, explore interests, and stay connected to a broader school community.

Students also have access to more than 200 courses aligned to Florida standards, including core subjects, electives, world languages, honors, Advanced Placement, Cambridge AICE, dual enrollment, and career and technical education pathways. High school students can also explore career-focused coursework in areas such as business, information technology, cybersecurity, and health sciences while working toward a standard high school diploma.

As part of the application process, families must provide proof of Florida residency and submit prior academic records. Due to the limited enrollment window, early application is encouraged.
