Students gather at the 2026 Florida Virtual School annual Club Awards in Orlando on May 14. More than 150 students attended, including these members of the FLVS Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter.
Students from across Florida gathered in Orlando this week to share performances, creativity, and interest-based extracurricular club work during Florida Virtual School’s (FLVS) annual Club Awards event, bringing together online learners for an in-person celebration of student achievement and connection.
Held May 14 at the Hilton Orlando, more than 150 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, along with their families and club sponsors, spent the day connecting face-to-face while showcasing the work they’ve developed throughout the year.
“Being part of Club Awards reminded me how strong and connected the FLVS community truly is,” said Iris Alexandra Fernandez Godwin, a FLVS Full Time Public Schools senior. “FLVS has shown me that online learning can still build a strong sense of community.” Godwin is vice president of the Senior Cabinet and president of Science National Honor Society, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and STEAM clubs. She plans to pursue a degree in psychology at Bryn Mawr College after graduation.
The program featured a mix of performing arts, academic, and cultural presentations. Student groups performed dance, cheerleading, and theater pieces, while American Sign Language (ASL) students across grade levels interpreted songs through signed performances.
Student leadership and career-focused groups also participated, including members of the Florida Virtual School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, who opened the event and shared remarks. The Class of 2026 senior class officers also came together to perform a skit representing the senior class experience.
Academic and project-based work included a Science National Honor Society Exploravision project, a mock debate led by Speech and Debate Club students, and showcases from the Geography and Photography clubs.
“This event showcases the creativity and leadership our students develop throughout the year and gives them a meaningful opportunity to come together and share their work,” said Mae Martin, student activities manager.
Cultural organizations also contributed activities, including a Spanish-language segment presented by the Spanish Honor Society.
The event concluded with a student awards ceremony recognizing student leadership, dedication, and achievements, sponsored by the FLVS Foundation.
FLVS offers more than 80 extracurricular clubs and activities for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, most of which are conducted virtually, with select in-person events held throughout the year.
