Mike Pociask
Michael Pociask is the Superintendent of Florida Scholars Academy (FSA), the statewide school district serving students in Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) residential programs in partnership with Florida Virtual School (FLVS). In this role, he provides strategic leadership for the statewide instructional program, working collaboratively with FLVS, DJJ, educational providers, and community partners to ensure justice-involved youth receive high-quality educational opportunities that prepare them for successful reentry, continued education, and lifelong success.
Prior to being named Superintendent, Pociask served as the Regional Director for Florida Scholars Academy, where he led the team that supported academic operations in the district’s central region. During his tenure, he led statewide instructional improvement initiatives, developed systems to strengthen educator effectiveness and student achievement, and partnered with instructional leaders, facility administrators, and community stakeholders to improve educational outcomes for justice-involved youth.
Before joining Florida Scholars Academy in 2024, Pociask gained experience in a variety of educational settings focused on instructional leadership and quality, organizational improvement, and advancing at‑risk student success. He held roles in both classroom instruction and school‑based leadership at Osceola Juvenile Commitment Facility, OASIS Residential Center, Heritage Park Academy (now DJJ’s Kissimmee Youth Academy), and Harmony High School.
Pociask is a servant leader who is passionate about developing people, building collaborative partnerships, and creating systems that improve student outcomes. His leadership emphasizes instructional excellence, data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and ensuring every student has access to meaningful educational opportunities that foster growth, resilience, and future success.
