Orange County Virtual School (OCVS) educators accepted the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) 2025 Franchise of the Year award at the FLVS County Virtual School meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Orange County Virtual School (OCVS) has been named the Florida Virtual School 2025 Franchise of the Year, recognizing the school's excellence in delivering K-12 online education through FLVS platforms and curriculum. OCVS is Orange County Public Schools' K-12 online education school, which serves more than 40,000 students in central Florida.
The FLVS Franchise of the Year recognition is awarded annually to an FLVS County Virtual School that exemplifies unwavering dedication, excellence, and innovation in serving students and families in the online learning environment. FLVS supports 34 contracted franchises that include Florida public school districts, as well as the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC Virtual) and the North East Florida Educational Consortium (MyDistrict Virtual School). The award was recently presented during the annual FLVS County Virtual School meeting held in Orlando, Florida.
"Orange County Virtual School continues to be a shining example of what virtual education can achieve," said Florida Virtual School Senior Director of Partner Services Larry Banks. "Their team of dedicated educators consistently demonstrates a deep understanding and passion for how virtual learning can empower students."
OCVS administrators and teachers set themselves apart through a relentless focus on student success, clear and consistent communication, exemplary customer service, academic integrity, and a collaborative culture.
“This recognition is a true reflection of the dedication, excellence, and heart of our entire OCVS team,” said Brandi Gurley, Orange County Virtual School principal. “Our teachers are the backbone of everything we do, and their commitment to high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and student success is what continues to set us apart.”
This recognition reflects Orange County Virtual School's alignment with the FLVS core values of excellence, innovation, community, balance, and communication, principles that guide its student-centered mission and drive continued success.
