Florida Virtual School Student Services Administrator Amy Hall, Ph.D., was honored for outstanding community impact during the 2025 Women’s History Luncheon sponsored by the Falcon HOPE Center at Daytona State College.
Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Student Services Administrator Amy Hall, Ph.D. was recognized by the Falcon HOPE Center at Daytona State College for her unwavering dedication to student success and community service during their 2025 Women’s History Luncheon.
Each year, the Falcon HOPE Center hosts a luncheon to honor individuals in Volusia and Flagler communities who exemplify the annual theme set by the National Women's History Alliance (NWHA). The 2025 theme was “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations.”
“Dr. Hall embodies the spirit of service, compassion, and leadership, which is why we wanted to honor her at our Women's History Luncheon” said Rabecka Collins, director of the Falcon HOPE Center. “Her tireless efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families across Florida.”
With more than 25 years of experience providing support to Florida youth, Hall is committed to ensuring students and families receive the academic and personal resources they need to thrive. As the FLVS student services administrator, she advocates for supporting students holistically with initiatives such as:
- Wellness Wednesday, a weekly program designed to promote mental health and well-being.
- Small groups and individual counseling.
- Resiliency skill-building programs to teach students ways to handle adversity, develop a growth mindset, and build emotional strength.
- Monthly parent sessions to provide guidance on ways to support students academically and emotionally.
Her passion for helping others extends far beyond the virtual classroom and into the heart of her community.
Hall’s dedication to service is evident through her extensive community involvement, which includes:
- Founding the Volusia Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, a nonprofit organization providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need. What began 20 years ago as a small initiative has grown into a movement, with over 25,000 meal boxes distributed last year alone.
- Providing leadership to the board of the Miracle League of Volusia County, which built a rubberized baseball field to accommodate wheelchairs and other assistive devices so special needs children have the opportunity to play baseball.
- Holding a position as an executive board member for the Port Orange Community Trust, an organization dedicated to enriching the community through funding and organizing impactful programs and events.
- Contributing to the board of Simon’s Angels, a nonprofit that alleviates financial burdens for families facing the medical hardships of their children, allowing them to focus on care and recovery.
- Contributing to the Youth Emotional Support (YES) board which provides specialized mental health training and resources for individuals, families, community allies, and professional partners.
“Dr. Hall’s compassion and commitment to student well-being is truly inspiring,” said Dari Deas, director of instruction at Florida Virtual School. “She not only supports our students academically but also fosters a culture of resilience that extends into every aspect of their lives.”
