The main objective of this organization is to virtually promote agriculture awareness of its members by enhancing their knowledge in the fields of agribusiness, agricultural communications, and related fields. Our mission is to encourage and recognize high academic achievement in American Sign Language studies. To encourage Deaf and hearing people come together in unity throughout the world and demonstrate commitment to scholarship, community service, and personal excellence.

• Grade 9-12 in FLVS Flex or Full Time
• Completed ASL 1 - and completed or enrolled in ASL 2
• 3.5 GPA in ALL course work - at least a B in ASL course,

FLVS Coding Club (9-12)

Coding Club is a place for students of all skill levels. The club meets on the second Wednesday monthly at 6 PM Eastern in Zoom. All club activities are extracurricular and should be done after schoolwork is completed. The agenda for monthly meetings is typically:

1. Into and housekeeping
2. Coding-related discussion topic by a Sponsor and optional lab
3. Student presentations of coding work
4. Open Q&A
5. Meeting closing
6. A follow-up email with Zoom recording link (Next day)

We do not have traditional officer roles in the club, but there are several ways to serve:

1. Present code to the club during meetings
2. Tutor other students in coding concepts
3. Help with administrative tasks during meetings like taking attendance and helping to answer questions in the chat

The French Honor Society, Société Honoraire de Français, is a prestigious honorary society that promotes outstanding academic achievement in the French language and culture. Members will be able to participate in Congrès, they will plan activities for National French week, World Fest, and Black History Month, as well as activities throughout the year to promote the French language and culture. 

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 PM EST (October through May)

Application Requirements:

• FLVS Flex and Full Time 9th-12th graders with at least a 3.0 OVERALL GPA and an A average in French.
• Students should be currently enrolled in segment 2 of French 2 or a higher level ( 3, 4, or 5) in FLVS Full Time or Flex programs.
• The student will need to attend 80% of the monthly meetings to remain active in the Society.

• Unofficial Transcripts must be emailed to the sponsor after the application is completed. Deadline: Friday, October 31st, 2025

SNN-Sharks News Network T.V. Journalism Club

SNN T.V. Journalism Club consists of 16 fifth-grade students who work well together to create and submit interest segments for a weekly Nearpod that is shared with the participants of SNN while waiting for the Morning Announcements to begin. Our crew submits segments for a pre-show Nearpod that teaches participants how to skateboard, make yummy smoothies, book and movie reviews and so much more! You will also have the opportunity to create special segment slides that relate to special days celebrated throughout the year. SNN Journalism members take pride in their ability to demonstrate leadership skills through teamwork and a positive growth mindset. SNN Journalism students should enjoy writing and computer/technology skills that include the use of Google Slides/Nearpod and typing.

The FLVS Junior Classical League (Latin Club) is open to all students who enroll in Latin. All Latin students are encouraged to join! Members have the opportunity to compete on the regional and state levels against students from all over Florida. The JCL provides leadership and scholarship opportunities on local, state, and national levels. There are four national tests and live documentary session given each month for interested students. By joining the FLVS JCL, students automatically become part of the National Junior Classical League. There are over 50,000 members in approximately 1,200 chapters, located in almost every state and in several foreign countries. Established in 1936, the organization seeks to promote the study of Latin and Greek, to benefit students and teachers alike, and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of classical antiquity. All students are welcome to participate in Latin Club, but please note that some activities, such as the National Latin Exam and regional/state competitions, are restricted to students who are taking/have taken a Latin course.

FLVS Flex and Full Time Grades 10-12 Only

The only online chapter of the National English Honor Society, the FLVS Cyber Scholar Chapter, consists of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have completed English 1 with an A, who have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and, of course, have a love for English/Language Arts! Our club is open to both the FLVS Flex and Full-Time Students. Members of NEHS have served as tutors in the English tutor room, which is available to FLVS English and Language Arts students. The club has also hosted in the past several online book discussions, the African American Read In, the Poetry Slam, FLVS Shakespeare Week and other fun events throughout the year. Your dues cover your national chapter fees, your NEHS pin, Certificate, and graduation cords for seniors

Florida Virtual High School - Grades 10-12 - By Invitation ONLY

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization, established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. It is estimated that more than one million students participate in activities of NHS and there are chapters in all 50 states, as well as many US territories. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Stoles:

Graduating NHS members will receive a gold stole with the NHS embroidered logo.

Application Requirements:

• NHS is for eligible 10-12 Graders Only that have been enrolled with Florida Virtual High School (Full Time) for at least 1 semester.
• NHS is an invitation only student club. Students who meet the GPA and enrollment requirements will receive an invitation to apply in mid-January.

• There will be an annual induction for students who are selected during the application process.
• The next round of qualification emails will be sent out in January 2026

Membership in the FLVS Full-Time 7-8 Chapter of the National Honor Society is by Invitation ONLY

As you begin the early stages of greater independence and responsibility as a middle level student, you may discover that you excel in your studies, have an interest in leadership and service, and have a thirst for challenge and accomplishment. National Junior Honor Society serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship. Through exclusive resources, programs, and services, members have a unique opportunity to prepare for their next steps in life. Membership truly lays the groundwork for lifelong success.

Membership Requirements:

• Invite only at this time. Invitations will be sent out to FVMS students in grades 7-8 that meet all requirements.
• Students in grades 7–8 with the FLVS Full-Time Middle School who meet the requirements for membership outlined by their school's chapter are eligible for membership (for example: minimum 3.5 GPA, no Academic Integrity incidents, strong character, leadership potential).
• Students must be enrolled with the FLVS Full Time Middle School for at least two full semesters. (FLEX students do not meet the NJHS national requirements for membership).
• Club dues are approximately $25 per year to help cover the cost of National Charter dues.
• If you were inducted previously with FLVS and are in good standing (attendance and volunteer service hours), there is no further action required on your part.

Florida Virtual High School Seniors ONLY

This club holds elections for our class officers. Candidates get to participate in a brief campaign and then members of the senior class vote for the candidates. Once elected, those candidates are responsible for planning and hosting class meetings for seniors to promote camaraderie and friendships among the seniors. Seniors also have the opportunity to plan school wide events and participate in Grad Bash at Universal Studios in Orlando in the spring.

Florida Virtual High School Grades 10-12 ONLY

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The mission of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies. Any FVHS secondary school student who has maintained an honors average in the study of Spanish or Portuguese for a minimum of three semesters, has a 3.5 GPA and is in the 10th grade or higher is eligible to be a member.

Prerequisites and Requirements:

• Open to students in FLVS Full Time Grades 10-12 (FVHS)
• Students are taking or have taken Spanish 2, Spanish 3 Honors, or Spanish 4 Honors.

Applications for our clubs will open after the K-5 Club Rush on Friday, September 19, 2025, after 11:00 am EST. Please feel free to fill out the form online and submit it.  

Steps to applying if you have not already done so

1. Go to www.flvs.net/clubs  

2. Scroll down and click on the program and grade level your child is in.  

3. A list of the open clubs will populate to choose from.

4. Click on the club your child is interested in joining.

5. At the bottom of the short description, the application link is activated.  

6. Click on that link and fill out the application. *Note: This is separate from the Flex TV Production application, but is required.

We will have an FNN blog this year. We need parents’ permission, so please print, fill out, and return the form below. Each student will be responsible for creating slides for our blog page. The first blog you create will introduce yourself and what you hope to do while working with the news crew this year.

SNN-Sharks News Network T.V. Production Team

SNN T.V. Production Club consists of 10 fifth-grade students who work together weekly to broadcast the morning announcements to the Florida Virtual Elementary school house every Monday and Wednesday morning. They meet every Friday as a club to go over slides for the upcoming week. SNN crew members are the face of the Florida Virtual Elementary School and take pride in their ability to demonstrate leadership skills through teamwork and a positive growth mindset.

Fall Application Process:

1. Obtain a letter of recommendation from a former instructor or a community member explaining why you should be on SNN. Have them email it with your full name directly to Ms. Shaffner at [email protected]. 
2. Create a video of you broadcasting a few morning announcement slides. Use the slides attached HERE for the script in your video. (Submit using Google Form below)
3. Complete Application Form

Each meeting with focus on a primary technology topic of discussion led by an FLVS student or a career professional guest speaker. There is no skill level needed to join, you just need to be interested in technology.
