At Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Full Time Public Schools, our dedicated school counselors are more than just academic advisors; they're champions for student success. From helping with course selection and college planning to offering emotional support and encouragement, FLVS school counselors are here to guide students and families through every stage of their educational journey.
Whether just starting kindergarten or preparing to graduate high school, FLVS school counselors bring compassion, expertise, and a personal touch to virtual learning. Elementary School Counselors (K–5)

Natasha Chinchilla
Provides services to students/families with last names G-O.
Natasha Chinchilla has been with FLVS for nine years and loves helping families find solutions and resources. She’s passionate about supporting students emotionally and academically, especially through self-regulation tools. Chinchilla enjoys a good Dunkin coffee, hands-on projects like remodeling her kitchen by herself, and dreams of taking her kids to New York City.

Doug Miller
Provides services to students/families with last names G-O.
Doug Miller has been with FLVS for six years and is passionate about helping students feel connected and supported. He specializes in working with students with test anxiety and leads monthly All-Pro Dads meetings. Miller plays the drums and loves unwinding with the TV show The Office and a Starbucks Americano.

Jessica Pociask
Provides services to students/families with last names P-Z.
Jessica Pociask brings a wealth of experience from both mental health and educational leadership and has been at FLVS for three years. She loves group sessions with students, collaborating with teachers and families, and is passionate about helping students focus on what they can control, like their effort, attitude, and making good choices. She also serves as a Parent Liaison and Youth Mental Health First Aid trainer. Pociask played collegiate tennis and, as a true Floridian, she dreams of seeing snow for the first time.

Middle School Counselors (6–8)

Erika Bishop
Provides services to students/families with last names A-Di.
With 27 years in education and over 10 years with FLVS, Erika Bishop is a passionate and experienced counselor who thrives on building meaningful connections with students and families, whether through a Zoom screen or a thoughtful text, or a phone call. Beyond her role in education, she’s a photography enthusiast with an eye for capturing life’s candid moments and a devoted listener of true crime podcasts. Erika firmly believes that success is rarely a straight path, and that’s more than okay. Her message to students is simple but powerful: keep showing up, stay curious, ask questions, and give your best each day. Because growth isn’t about perfection, it’s about persistence.

Korissa Diaz
Provides services to students/families with the last names Do-La.
Korissa Diaz is known for her encouraging spirit and her love of Friends Corner, a virtual space where middle school students connect as they navigate their academic journey and the challenges of life. She has worked at FLVS for four years, and is a homemade ice cream maker, and once received roses from a student she helped get into the University of Florida after encouraging her and helping her recognize her strengths and accomplishments.

Laura Wilson
Provides services to students/families with last names Le-Rh.
Laura Wilson has been with FLVS for nine years and finds joy in Friends Corner, where students can gather with their peers and all school counselors in a relaxed, supportive environment, and build resilience, develop confidence, and discover their own capacity for success. She’s a Pride and Prejudice fan, a snow skier, and dreams of visiting New Zealand. A memorable moment at FLVS involved a student who attended class with her pet monkey perched beside her. She says it was a delightful reminder of the unique personalities and home environments FLVS students bring to the learning experience.

Jennifer Nullman
Provides services to students/families with last names Ri-Z.
Jennifer Nullman blends her love of psychology and education to support students through academic advisement and life’s challenges. She has been a school counselor for 21 years and has worked for the last 10 years at FLVS. She’s a yoga enthusiast (and can do a headstand!), and while she was an avid writer (first published at 12) and lacrosse player through middle and high school, nowadays she plays lacrosse with her youngest son and still loves writing in whatever free time she has. Counselor Corner and Friends Corner are her favorite parts of the day.

High School Counselors (9–12)

Lisa Chiu
Provides services to students/families with last names A-Bri.
Lisa Chiu has been with FLVS for four years and is passionate about helping students feel supported and confident as they navigate high school. Her biggest piece of advice for students is to ask questions. She’s a tea lover who enjoys baking and watching Gilmore Girls on repeat. Her favorite part of the day is a fresh morning start and pumpkin spice latte season.

Beth Mause
Provides services to students/families with last names Brj-Deq.
Beth Mause loves mornings as they offer a fresh start and a chance to connect with students as they begin their day. She enjoys being a counselor as it allows her to support students, whether through their challenges or successes, and has spent the past seven years at FLVS. She’s a chocolate lover, book club member, and would love to learn to play the piano.

Rebecca Heinzmann
Provides services to students/families with last names Der-Gom.
Rebecca Heinzmann has been with FLVS for 20 years and believes every student deserves someone in their corner. She’s passionate about helping students find their path and celebrates their wins, especially college acceptances. She sees herself as a bridge, piecing together what teachers notice in their virtual classrooms and what families share about what is happening at home, coming together to support the students from all sides. She loves iced coffee with sweet cream, fishing for the peace and patience it brings, and getting lost in the Outlander books and TV series with its mix of history and adventure.

Christina Head
Provides services to students/families with last names Gon-Jon.
Christina Head brings warmth and creativity to her counseling, often adding quotes and challenges for students to her emails. She has been a school counselor at FLVS for 11 years. One piece of advice she often gives to students is that colleges are looking to see that students are placed in academically appropriate courses, with increasing rigor throughout their high school career. She’s a runner, Pitch Perfect fan, and hopes to run the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland.

Heather Alexander
Provides services to students/families with last names Joo-Mar.
Heather Alexander comes from a family of educators and enjoys working with young people every day, especially seniors, and guiding them through post-graduation plans. It is such an important time in their lives, and she believes it is an honor to walk alongside them as they discover and develop their goals and future plans. She has been a school counselor for over 16 years and just finished her first year with FLVS. She encourages everyone to attend the Counselor Cafe sessions as they are always packed with so much good information. She’s a baseball mom, a chocolate lover, and wants to visit every Major League Baseball stadium with her family.

Jennifer Ludington

Jennifer Ludington became a counselor nine years ago to offer the support she once needed herself. The success stories that stick with her are those of students who have overcome extreme challenges to graduate and pursue their chosen careers. Their resilience in the face of setbacks reminds her how strong and determined her students truly are. Ludington is a scuba diver, basketball player, and loves documentaries and banana-peanut butter sandwiches. She loves learning about and exploring the history of Florida by visiting museums, archaeological sites, and historical landmarks.

Angela Jackson-Miller

Angela Jackson-Miller has been with FLVS for 10 years and loves helping students with graduation planning. Her favorite part of her day is counseling students about their courses, community service, and graduation requirements. She’s a Dunkin’ coffee fan and finds joy in making students laugh.

Jennifer Feliciano

Jennifer Feliciano is passionate about helping students explore multiple paths to success and has worked at FLVS for three years. She has had a few students in the past who, against all odds and every possible barrier, overcame them and successfully graduated from high school and even moved on to be extremely successful. She loves it any time a former student reaches out and keeps her updated on their journeys. She collects sports cards, plays video games, and dreams of eating pasta in Italy.

Karri Walters

Karri Walters has been with FLVS for 18 years and believes in the power of being a steady presence in students’ lives. She encourages students to approach both academics and personal challenges with patience, focusing on one goal at a time. She believes that growth isn’t about perfection, but about consistent effort and learning along the way. She loves to weightlift to stay active and dreams of traveling the world and learning to golf.

Melissa Stramanino
Provides services to all Cambridge AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) students.
Melissa Stramanino’s favorite part of her day is chatting with students. She has worked at FLVS for five years and truly loves it. She’s a great listener, loves helping people, and thinks teenagers are fabulous, making her a natural fit for school counseling. Conversations with students are always the highlight of her day. She loves snorkeling, traveling, and watching Abbott Elementary.
