Hear From Our Past Interns

  • Alexis Fleitas

“My internship at Florida Virtual School has been one of the most meaningful parts of my teacher preparation journey. Working with Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students has been incredibly rewarding, and the FLVS team made my experience smooth and memorable. My mentor teacher has supported me every step of the way, providing training and every tool I need to succeed in my own classroom. FLVS offers a positive virtual environment filled with passionate educators dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. I highly recommend interning here for hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and a truly supportive community.”

  • Kate DeSimone

"My internship with the FLVS Curriculum Department has been an incredibly valuable experience that closely aligns with my goals in instructional design. I’ve gained hands-on experience developing digital learning materials, using tools such as Course Builder, and applying feedback to improve the quality of my work. FLVS fosters a collaborative, innovative environment where interns are truly part of the team and encouraged to grow. It’s an ideal place to learn about online education, strengthen professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that support student success.”

  • Jillian Fulcher

“My internship has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As a former FLVS student, I was excited to return in a new capacity. This opportunity has allowed me to develop valuable skills and gain meaningful insights that will support my future career. Interning with FLVS means you’ll gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that make a real impact.”

  • Tamia Corson

“My experience at FLVS has been one in a million. The support from the FLVS community is quite admirable. FLVS is an incredible platform that has saved my life. While in high school, FLVS helped me escape my reality of bullying in school, and I will forever be an advocate for FLVS. When I got to college, I couldn’t think of a better place to complete both my Jr- and Sr-level internships. I can’t think of a better group of people to teach future students, and I love being a part of it. My supervising teacher is someone who will be a lifelong mentor to me. This community of people will  stop at nothing to make you feel like you belong at FLVS.”

  • Ruth Ross

“My internship with FLVS has been such a positive, insightful, and engaging experience, exceeding all my hopes and expectations for my senior year. I have fallen in love with the one-to-one learning environment that FLVS offers, since it allows me to connect with each student on a personal level. I have also felt incredibly supported by every single instructor I have met through my schoolhouse and internship team. They truly set me up for success. Interning at FLVS has given me personal confidence and a newfound passion for online teaching. I cannot wait to apply for a full-time position after graduation.”

  • Shoaib Ali

"From getting to interact and teach students in such a modern way, to creating my own schedule, and getting to work from the comfort of my own home, I can't think of a better school I would want to begin my teaching career with! I've enjoyed making my lessons and my tutoring sessions more interactive, giving students more chances to participate while also getting to learn at their own pace! I'd highly recommend this internship for any teacher candidate wanting to experience the virtual education environment.”
