Due to a family emergency with the guest speaker we have to cancel this webinar. Today's tech-savvy criminals are using the internet and other computer resources to gain access to Floridians' most private information.  Computer-facilitated crimes are not limited to child pornography or sexual solicitation. Extra caution must be taken to protect our most vulnerable from falling victim to exploitation.  Join the FLVS Flex School Counseling Team and special guest Kalyn Knight, Victim Services Program Specialist at the Florida Office of the Attorney General, as we say no to cyber-bullying and provide tips stay safe on-line! Note: This session may discuss sensitive topics that are not suitable for every student.

Did you know that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month? Did you know 1 in 5 girls are the victim of sexual abuse? We know it can be hard to talk about, but we need to! Listen to this interactive presentation hosted by Jennifer C. Guarino, M.A., LMHC, a Victim’s Therapist at the Women’s Center in Brevard County. She will share what sexual abuse is and the warning signs. Learn how to find help and how to prevent it! **This presentation is intended for students in grades 9-12. This recording may not be suitable for all students.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness

Did you know, "Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15- to 24-year-olds" according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)? What are some of the warning signs that you or someone you know may be in danger? How can you help someone dealing with tough times? The FLVS Guidance team will present helpful information and raise awareness about the prevention of suicide and violence. We believe that one of the best ways to overcome life's difficulty is through education and support.

3rd Annual STEM Career Fair

The Florida Department of Education and Florida Virtual School hosted the STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math) Virtual Career Days on May 1 & 3. STEM careers exist in every field and during this virtual event, students can learn more from a variety of experts. The presenters will provided a typical "day in the life" overview of their roles, as well as provided career-related information and advice.
