Frequently Asked Questions for Parents and Students

Students are able to stay on track with their education online if they choose to continue their studies in a home-based environment.

FLVS teachers will work with individual students who are impacted by COVID-19 to assess and place students in the correct portion/lesson of the course to keep their education on track.

Students and families who are interested in transferring their classes to the online environment should visit for enrollment information. We will work with each student to accommodate his/her individual needs as we do for all FLVS students.

Students seeking online classes should register for courses in FLVS Flex, which allows students to enroll 365 days a year.
Decisions related to meeting graduation requirements will continue to be determined by the student’s brick-and-mortar school.
Yes, FLVS will work with school counselors to ensure any progress made in a student’s course(s) is transferred from FLVS back to the brick-and-mortar for credit.
We have prepared many resources to help parents in the online learning environment. Please visit our Homeschool Hub for information on how to get started and review all of the requirements on the Florida Department of Education website.
Each school should have counselors and school administrators still available to verify your FLVS Flex courses in the FLVS registration system, during the prolonged school closures. If course verifications are not taking place within a few days of registration, please contact your school counselor/administration.

FLVS Flex courses are supplemental to students’ courses at their regular schools.

When enrolling in FLVS Flex, students who are enrolled in any brick-and-mortar school, do not have to withdraw from their school of record.

Yes, FLVS digital courses meet Florida Standards.

FLVS, the district and its schools, is accredited by Cognia and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). SACS CASI is an accrediting division of Cognia.
