Florida Governor Signs Bill Removing Virtual Education Eligibility Restrictions

On June 15, 2017, Governor Rick Scott signed HB 7069 which included language to remove the eligibility requirements in f.s. 1002.455 currently impacting Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Flex students in grades 2-5. This bill will go into effect on July 1, 2017.

Florida Virtual School and Mawi Learning Launch Middle School (M/J) Peer Counseling Course

Starting July 1, 2017, Florida Virtual School (FLVS) in collaboration with Mawi Learning, will launch its new M/J Peer Counseling 1 course geared specifically towards middle school students.

May 24, 2017

Florida Virtual School Full Time (FLVS Full Time), a statewide online public school for students in grades Kindergarten-12, will host their high school commencement ceremony Tuesday, May 30, 3 p.m. at the CFE Arena, located on the campus of the University of Central Florida, 12777 Gemini Blvd N., Orlando, FL, 32816.

Florida Virtual School Appoints New President and CEO

May 15, 2017

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Board of Trustees announced Dr. Jodi Marshall as the new president and CEO of the organization effective July 1, 2017. Ronald Blocker, the current president and CEO who announced his resignation in February, will be working with Marshall for the remainder of the school year to ensure a smooth transition.
