Diction Diction is the author's choice of words. These words are carefully chosen to enhance the writing and produce an effect on the reader.
Figurative Language
Figurative language or a figure of speech is a term that refers to words or phrases that cannot be taken literally. It is a literary device used by the writer to create meaning through the emotional connection to a word or phrase.
Detail Details are words or phrases that enable the reader to clearly see, feel, hear, taste or smell what an author is attempting to describe. In other words, these sensory details effectively depict an authentic image.
