Science Club
The Science Club is now open to all FLVS students. You do NOT need to be in a science class to join. We have ongoing projects that include: Virtual Science Fair, Science Olympics, Field Trips,Conservation Activites, and more.
If you would like to be a Science Club member, email the club sponsor. Once you become a member, the Science Club link will appear on your course list page. You will be able to enter it at any time to see updates and meeting times and to participate in discussions.
We also need and welcome any parent volunteers.

Science Olympiad
What is the Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad consists of a regional and state competition involving various science related events.
What is the purpose of this activity?
The goal of Science Olympiad is to offer a variety of events that will allow students to learn, enjoy and compete in a variety of inquiry based Science events.
Who can participate in the Science Olympiad?
The Science Olympiad is open to all FLVS students. Please attend the informational meeting on November 19, 2008 at 9PM for more details. Interested students must submit required forms by the end of November.
When and where are the regional and state competitions? The regional competition will be held in Orlando on Sat. Jan 31, 2009. Qualifying teams will participate in the state competition at UCF, in Orlando, on Sat. Feb. 28, 2009. |

FLVS Third Annual Virtual Science Fair
What is the Virtual Science Fair?
The FLVS Virtual Science Fair an opportunity for students to proudly display their experiments and hard work. Participants will present their work to students, parents, faculty, and science community.
Who can participate in the Virtual Science fair?
The Virtual Science Fair is open to all FLVS students. Please attend the informational meeting on December 3, 2008 at 9PM for more details. Interested students must submit required forms by February 15, 2009.
When and where will the Virtual Science Fair be held?
The Virtual Science Fair will be hosted online and judged by scientists from around the United States. Projects will be due in early March. Specific dates for the Virtual Science Fair will be announced soon. |
