Time to Reflect

tulips DNA is a remarkable molecule. It contains information for producing proteins. Proteins allow for the expression of the characteristics that make all of life unique. Proteins make up structures in living things as well as keep all the chemistry of life in order. DNA has a special arrangement of molecules that allows it to copy itself and pass on the information to new cells.
  • DNA is a large molecule found in the nucleus of eukaryote cells.
  • The special order of the nitrogen bases in the DNA molecule allows it to make an identical copy.
  • Changes in a DNA molecule are called mutations.
