Canadian Association for Distance Education Award of Excellence
At the May, 2000 Canadian Association for Distance Education (CADE) conference, The Florida Virtual School received one of the five CADE Awards of Excellence. The objective of the awards is to recognize excellence in distance education projects, both nationally and internationally, through a competition adjudicated by a committee of professional peers from across Canada. For each of their five categories, they present an English and French award. FLVS won the "Award of Excellence Learner-Centered IT." This is the first time a CADE award has been presented to an organization outside of Canada.
