Latin Team Makes FLVS Proud at State Competition
Four FLVS students participated in the recent Florida Junior Classical League (JCL) State Latin Forum in Orlando. Approximately 1,200 students from all across the state gathered to compete in a variety of categories. FLVS also sent a team, and they did not come away empty handed.
How did they do?
Not too shabby! Our four participants came home with the following honors:
- Derek Long won seventh place for his game "All Roads Lead to Rome" and 10th place on the Latin Derivatives Level 1 test.
- Sarah Cuddington won first place on her web page and 9th place on Greek derivatives, advanced. She also took 9th for her impromptu art creation.
- Ben Piburn won seventh place on the Mythology 1 test.
- Andrew Vertz and Ben Piburn also made the open certamen teams.
