As a teenager, stress is more apparent than some would acknowledge. There is school, which is on average seven hours a day, plus hours of homework. Temptation is at its highest. Procrastination is almost inevitable.  You want to hang out with your friends 24/7. Some have it together, while others are lost and all they seem to care about are the distractions.

Whether you know it or not, as a teenager you are shaping your life right now. The choices you make will affect you for the rest of your life. It’s hard to be responsible, mature, and to find who are.

Parents can’t really relate. The only ones who can are your peers and even they stab you in the back when you are not looking. Wearing your heart on your sleeve is what some seem to do because they are young and inexperienced. There is saying that goes “being a teenager is the best times of your life.”

It is the most important, and sure it can be the best times, but also the most painful, stressful, and awkward. You have to deal with parents who aren’t on the same page, teachers and authority figures who seem out to be out to get you and seem to misunderstand you.

There is school work which most procrastinate on, and there are friends who come and go and help and hurt, and influence good and bad things into your life. There are also your own personal emotional experiences and changes that you barely understand.

Many teenagers do not know what to do, who to be, or what they want. Stress is a part of everyday life, and whether people realize it or not, teenagers have a lot of it.

As a teenager with some experience under my belt, I can only advise others to keep their priorities in order and know the line between right and wrong. Have fun, learn things, and talk about things to whomever you feel comfortable with. It’s also ok if you don’t know who you are or what you want as long as you are on your way to figuring it out.
