If you think you know what career you would like to pursue, but you aren’t a 100 percent sure, then what better way to find out than shadowing for that job. Want to be a veterinarian?  Try to find vets in your town that would be more than happy to let you tag along with them for the day.

A good way to find people with your career choice could be checking the yellow pages.  You might try asking your parents or other adults if they know anyone with your career choice that would let you shadow them.

If you get the opportunity to shadow make sure you pay attention, ask questions, and thank the person for their time.  Job shadowing is a great way to observe the average day for a person with your career choice.  Also, preparing for a certain job by getting specific training or doing an internship will definitely give you an advantage.

Working as an intern for someone is a great way to be ahead of the game when you go to apply for a job.
