FLVS Faculty and Staff Tell How They Spent the Holidays

Ms. Sue Shelton, Instructor:

Here is a picture of my best Christmas present,
Jared Caleb Thompson, my newest grandson.

Mr. Nathan Putney, Instructor:

As far as my family is concerned, we enjoyed a visit with our oldest son who is an Air Force officer stationed near Baltimore. Hope you had a good holiday, too.

Ms. Julie Young: Chief Executive Officer:

My family spent the holidays in Ft. Myers/Sanibel with my family. We had Christmas morning in Orlando and then drove south for Christmas dinner. We played golf, shopped, enjoyed the beach and spent time with good friends. It was a wonderful holiday.

Ms. Kim Rugh, Instructor:

Over the holidays we enjoyed being with family and slowing down a bit. It was especially fun to see our son understand the special season. At the Christmas Eve service at our church, the minister kept using the phrase, "The Christmas story is the greatest story of THEM ALL." Read this line out loud for best effect.

Well, each time he heard that line (probably 5 times during the service) Carson yelled out, "Mamma, why is he talking about THE MALL??!!" Mind you, there were about 1000 people in the service and I wanted to crawl under the pew!

I guess we did a bit too much holiday shopping at the mall this year?!

Mr. Peter Billingsley, Instructor:

My wife and I spent hours watching Ethan go up and down the drive-way!!

Mr Billingsley and his wife Wendy welcomed a new baby into the world on January 8, 2003. Mom and baby are doing great!

Ms. Colleen Brandeo, Instructor:

This was the first Christmas wth my two little grandsons who were able to really get into the "spirit" of sharing gifts. It was a really special time for my family as we enjoyed each other's company and love.

Ms Cindy Lohan, Instructor
:

This holiday season I spent with my "new family addition" - Remi the puppy. He really has kept me on my toes.

My children are so excited because they have been campaigning for a dog for about 4 years now. They finally wore me down.

Ms Liane McHugh, Instructor:

Recently, we took a ski trip to Colorado. While it's not that interesting that my family went skiing after Christmas, it is interesting that two of my students (sisters) were at Winter Park ski resort for the exact same week! We didn't have a chance to get together, but what a small world it is for virtual students and their teacher to be on the same mountain half way across the country! Really wanted to get a picture of us together for FLVS, but didn't. I've attached a picture of my son, Gareth, learning how to ski. (Gareth is my 4 1/2 year old; this was his first time on skis)
