FLVS Staff Members Win Awards!
Dr.
Sharon Johnston, Director of Curriculum at FLVS, was named a semifinalist
to the National Teachers Hall of Fame
on June of 2002. The National Teachers Hall of Fame recognizes
and honors exceptional teachers and the teaching profession on the
national level. The National Teachers Hall of Fame (NTHF), located
in Kansas, was founded in 1989 by Emporia State University as a
tribute to the nation’s most important profession -- teaching.
The finalist will be announced this summer.
FLVS is proud to have National Board
Certified teachers as an integral part of our topnotch teaching
staff. They include in Math: Nathan
Putney, Irene Payne, Shelli Reeves and Mary Linn; Personal
Fitness: Jeanne Fifer; Life Management:
Robyn Smith; Science: Pat
Kretzer, Ed Braddy and Mary Mitchell;
Language Arts: Kay Johnson, Sharon Johnston,
Jodi Marshall, Kelly Myers, April O’Bryan, and Kim Rugh.
FLVS faculty
and staff selected Doris McManus, Language Arts Instructor and News
in a Click sponsor, as its Teacher of the Year. Doris
will represent FLVS in the State Teacher of the Year Program.
