Greeting

It is such a pleasure to be a part of Florida Virtual
School. In November, I became the Instructional Manager for the
full-time teachers, and it is a joy to serve in this capacity.
As the grant contact person, I regularly receive copies of the "kudos"
that go out to our staff members about the service and successes
they offer to students. These wonderful praises make up the culture
of Florida Virtual School and I believe we all savor our unique
organization in the public school arena. The teamwork and the group
support make Florida Virtual School a warm and nurturing environment.
In my role as Instructional Manager, I am here to
serve and assist the teachers. The role comes after many years of
service in public education. I spent 29 years with the public school
system in the state of Florida, serving as a high school social
studies teacher, high school and middle school guidance counselor,
district supervisor of student services/district supervisor of grant
management, assistant principal, and principal. Coming to FLVS two
years ago was a wonderful change and a new challenge.
When one looks at the history of Florida Virtual School
over time, the growth is phenomenal. Recently several of us collaborated
on a report to review some key issues about Florida Virtual School.
The following table shows the growth of FLVS in the seven-year history.
