FLVS Celebrates Earth Day!

Earth Day Educational Symposium
(April 21, 11am-8:00pm)

Earth DayWelcome to Florida Virtual School's Earth Day Celebration! The festivities will take place on Thursday, April 21st, from 11am to 8pm. During this event, you will hear from your fellow FLVS students as they discuss ideas for living green, recycling and saving the planet. You will also hear from experts from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Ocean Project and more.

Don't miss our student contest where you can share what Earth Day means to you.

  • Natalie Ayala is an Environmental Specialist with the Watershed Mgmt section of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
    The Department of Environmental Protection is the lead agency in state government for environmental management and stewardship and is one of the more diverse agencies in state government, protecting our air, water, and land

  • Lissette Miller is a Volunteer and Miami Oxfam Action Corps leader for Oxfam International

  • Bruce Campbell is the Technical Director for the Ocean Project
    The Ocean Project is a global network of zoos, aquariums, and museums educating millions of visitors about how they can help protect and conserve our shared ocean.

While the importance of Earth Day is undeniable, the day itself means many things to many people. Some plant trees, some start recycling, and still others promise to reduce their carbon footprint.
