Diane Hernandez Torchbearer Scholarship

Recipients Announced!

Hannah Altman Congratulations to the winners of the Diane Hernandez Torchbearer Scholarship! The first place $500 scholarship is awarded to Hannah Altman for her essay, “It Doesn’t Grow on Trees.” Hannah plans to attend Cornell College to major in Ethnic Studies.

Jacob Stein

Jacob Stein was awarded a $250 scholarship for his essay, “My Steps to Financial Responsibility.” Jacob is heading to Macalester College as a physics and computer science double major.

On behalf of The Foundation for Florida Virtual School who has made this scholarship opportunity available to FLVS students, we want to thank all of the students who participated in this essay contest. We received many outstanding essays. Best wishes to all of you on your future endeavors!
