Relief for Haiti Earthquake Victims
The devastation in Haiti continues to dominate the headlines, and our thoughts are with the thousands of people who have been so greatly impacted. Students, families, and staff at Florida Virtual School have requested information on how we as a school and community can help. There are numerous agencies and community organizations that are working to assist the survivors. We recommend that our staff, students and parents discuss what works best for their families and reach out to an organization of your choice. We have listed a few of the many agencies that are currently accepting donations for the Haitian relief efforts. Thank you for taking the time to consider the needs of those affected by this tragic event.
UNICEF UNICEF, which stands for the United Nations Children’s Fund, is one of many U.N. agencies now working in Haiti. It focuses on youth issues, girls’ education, anti-poverty measures, HIV-AIDS prevention and immunization programs, among others.
