Eligibility Policies
Residency Requirement (Florida Students):
Students shall be considered Florida students and thus qualify for free access to FLVS course if any of the following criteria are met:
- Be enrolled in a Florida public school, or
- Be enrolled as a homeschool student with a Florida public school district, or
- Be enrolled in a Florida private school and whose legal guardian is a Florida resident, or
- Be the child of a parent who is stationed at a Florida military base (the legal guardian must be the person who is stationed at the Florida military base)
Age Requirement for Part Time Students:
FLVS offers part time courses in grades 4-12.
4th and 5th grade public school students are now eligible to take Florida Virtual School® middle school courses directly if within the 1.0 FTE total between Florida Virtual School and the school district. Elementary principals must notify parents of 4th and 5th grade students who score 4 or 5 on FCAT reading or math of acceleration courses offered through Florida Virtual School.
Students in grades K-3 are not eligible for FLVS part-time courses at this time.

FLVS will enroll students through age 19. Students must complete their course before age 21.
Exceptional education students who have not earned a standard diploma remain eligible for educational services through the end of the school year in which they become twenty-two years old. (IDEA.97-300.121(a))
