From Florida to Alaska, there are many things to see. In this course, students and their teammates travel virtually across the country, competing in local soccer tournaments. When they are not on the soccer field, students have plenty of time to read and write about the exciting things they encounter. With a good book, students can go anywhere. The better they can read, the farther they can go.
In this course, there are stories to read, videos to watch, and activities to enjoy. There are fiction, nonfiction, and even some poetry. Students encounter new vocabulary to learn and story maps to fill out. The goal is to enhance students’ skills as active readers and give them strategies for understanding what happens in the stories they read.
