For students who have ever wondered how the world’s religions came to be, or how the religions of the world differ, the World Religions course can help answer these questions. The course introduces students to the origins, beliefs, and practices of the world’s major religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Shintoism, and Taoism. Students explore the place of religion in culture, as well as the similarities and differences among religions. The course challenges students to examine how religion has shaped history, societies, and even current world events.
