Description:	For students who have ever wondered how the world’s religions came to be, or how the religions of the world differ, the World Religions course can help answer these questions. The course introduces students to the origins, beliefs, and practices of the world’s major religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Shintoism, and Taoism. Students explore the place of religion in culture, as well as the similarities and differences among religions. The course challenges students to examine how religion has shaped history, societies, and even current world events. Course Assessment and Participation Requirements:	To achieve success, students are expected to submit work in each course weekly. Students can learn at their own pace; however, “any pace” still means that students must make progress in the course every week. To measure learning, students complete self-checks, practice lessons, multiple choice questions, simulated AP exams, projects, discussion-based assessments, and discussions. Students are expected to maintain regular contact with teachers; the minimum requirement is monthly. When teachers, students, and parents work together, students are successful.
