Tracy Hansen

Instructional Substitute
Florida Virtual School

Tracy Hansen has taught high school and middle school students in traditional classroom settings.  She has also provided one-on-one tutoring to individual students.  In all settings, her goal has been to help her students achieve individual success.

Ms. Hansen earned her teaching certification in English, grades six through twelve.  Her choice of this area of teaching was shaped by her passion for literature.  She also recognizes that literacy is an integral part of both social and physical development.  It is the springboard to life-long learning, and the key to success in academics and employment.

Ms. Hansen’s decision to join the Florida Virtual School faculty is motivated by her desire to provide individualized instruction in the online environment.  Recognizing that students are not all alike, Ms. Hansen assesses each student’s aptitudes and learning style.  She also invests the time needed for each student to achieve mastery and understanding of the subject matter.

Ms. Hansen is a veteran teacher with nine years of experience.  In addition to teaching middle and high school curriculum, she served as a camp counselor and an Extended Day program assistant.  In 2000 she was recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.  She considers her greatest teaching accomplishments to occur every time a student finds renewed motivation to be successful.

Ms. Hansen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida.
