Steffany Gladdin

Language Arts
Florida Virtual School

Steffany Gladdin believes that making a difference in a student’s life is the greatest accomplishment a teacher can have. Her commitment to making a real difference began in 1998 when she was voted Rookie Teacher of the Year at Fort M cCoy Middle School in Marion County, Florida. From her first day in class, Mrs. Gladdin’s ability to create enthusiasm for learning was quickly recognized by fellow teachers and students.

Mrs. Gladdin’s love of reading led her to choose English as her area of certification. She says that reading and writing are the foundations of a good education, and that acquiring strong communication skills is essential for a student’s future success.

In 2000, Mrs. Gladdin applied her teaching skills to the job of raising her daughter Ryleigh. Four years later, the flexibility of Florida Virtual School’s online curriculum encouraged her return to professional teaching while still attending to the needs of her family. She especially appreciates the opportunity to work from home while ensuring that every student receives her individual attention

In both the classroom and in the online environment, Mrs. Gladdin creates mutually respectful relationships with her students. In her student-centered course, she guides students to take charge of their own learning.

Mrs. Gladdin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from St. Leo College. Her second Bachelor of Arts degree awarded by Florida Southern College is in Elementary Education.
