Shantana Johnson travels the entire state of Florida without ever leaving her desk.  As the lead customer care representative, she reaches out to parents and students from the Florida Panhandle to the Florida Keys.  Her job is to answer their phone calls and make them feel welcome wherever they live. 

To be effective in her job, Mrs. Johnson employs her extensive customer service experience.  Since she really enjoys talking on the telephone, she makes each call an opportunity to win a friend for Florida Virtual School. Whether asking about enrollment procedures or student records, callers and visitors appreciate Mrs. Johnson’s sincere interest and informed answers.

Prior to joining the Customer Service department at FLVS, Mrs. Johnson provided customer service at the Orlando Science Center in Orlando, Florida.  Working with teachers and administrators from area schools, she scheduled class field trips to the Science Center, summer camps, and educational presentations delivered by Science Center personnel.  For five years, she helped to ensure that the educational opportunities offered by the Science Center met the curriculum needs of her customers.

Mrs. Johnson’s decision to join FLVS was motivated by her desire to provide customer service in an educational setting.  Her goal is to assist students from around the state to achieve their educational objectives.  She also provides clerical assistance to the staff and administration at her school.

Mrs. Johnson is a wife and mother, and is proud to call herself a native Floridian.
