Computing for College and Careers Florida Virtual School
Whether she worked in public relations or as a teacher in the classroom, Rebecca Wright has consistently delivered her message with enthusiasm and an authentic interest in her audience. Motivating others has been her purpose, and helping people achieve their goals has been her greatest satisfaction.
Before entering teaching, Mrs. Wright served as the public relations director of the Polk County Chapter of American Red Cross. She also worked as a staffing coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian international relief organization. Later, she joined the staff at Auburndale High School in Polk County as a college and career specialist. Ultimately, her business background and her interest in students brought Mrs. Wright into the classroom as a web design teacher.
For Mrs. Wright, her desire for her student’s success is the motivation behind her teaching. Her effectiveness as a teacher is built on her enthusiasm for life and her excitement about the potential of each student. It is the kind of energy and enthusiasm that resulted in her selection as Teacher of the Year from Auburndale High after her first year of teaching. She was also chosen by her students as the Grand Marshall for the homecoming parade.
Today, Mrs. Wright expresses a similar enthusiasm for her teaching assignment with Florida Virtual School. With a young daughter in her home, she was pleased that FLVS offers her the opportunity to continue her teaching while also caring for the needs of her family.
Mrs. Wright earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a double major in Advertising and Public Relations from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
