Great web sites have a character and personality all their own.  Not only do they reflect their company or school, they also reflect the creativity of the person who created them.  The website for Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida communicates important information to its visitors.  It also represents the vision of one of its pioneer developers, Priscilla Yamin.

Today, Mrs. Yamin is using her skills for the benefit of the staff and students of Florida Virtual School.  In her role as Curriculum Services Project Manager, Mrs. Yamin coordinates the efforts of FLVS course development teams.  The goal is to create or revise courseware that is engaging and educationally effective.

Mrs. Yamin’s personal goal is to provide the highest quality customer service.  By helping to develop online courses that are user-friendly and pedagogically effective, she assists teachers and students in attaining their educational goals.  As a mother experienced in home-schooling, Mrs. Yamin is especially committed to providing online instruction that offers effective alternatives to traditional instruction.

Mrs. Yamin’s eight years at Valencia Community College are ideally suited to achieving her current career goals.  She began by analyzing her college’s needs, and developing a web presence that answered those needs.  She also provided training and support to the college’s faculty enabling them to maximum benefit from their individual web sites or “front doors.” 

Today, as a member of the FLVS team, Mrs. Yamin’s love of learning and teaching will continue to serve as the focal point of developing state-of-the-art courses.
