| For Phyllis
Lentz, both change and constancy are positive realities.
As the Director of Global Services for FLVS, Ms. Lentz assists
her clients in discovering new approaches to student learning.
All the while recognizing that student achievement is the
constant goal.
Ms.
Lentz is a career educator who began her career as a high
school business education teacher. She was the first in
her school to introduce the new technology of computers
into the curriculum. She says, “It was easy to see that
computers would change the way we did business. And it
was important that my students were prepared for those
changes.”
After
moving to Florida, Ms. Lentz guided the Orange County
School District through several technology implementation
projects. In 1996, she became one of the original members
of the FLVS staff, bringing an educator’s point of view
to the development of online learning.
Today,
Ms. Lentz travels extensively throughout the United States
and internationally. Her goal is to assist clients in
developing an appropriate online instructional approach
based on solid pedagogical principals. Referring to the
1992 SCANS Report, Ms. Lentz says that the new educational
paradigm makes student achievement the constant, with
time and place as the variables.
Ms.
Lentz received her B.S. in Business Education form the
University of Toledo and her M.S. in Computer Education
from Nova University. She serves as an adjunct professor
at Florida Southern College.
