Pam Smith

Pam Smith's teaching career has spanned twenty years with instructional assignments as a secondary language arts teacher, graduate teaching assistant at the University of Alabama, middle school gifted education language arts and social studies teacher, and a community college instructor. Ms. Smith has also hosted a live television homework assistance program. In 2004, Smith earned certification in adolescence and young adulthood language arts by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Ms. Smith's education includes an undergraduate degree in English education, graduate degrees in public administration and gifted education, and additional graduate hours in reading and English. Smith believes that education is a key factor in self-improvement and personal and professional development.

Ms. Smith's interests include Florida State football, Wake Forest basketball (GO DEACS), piano playing, beach, and music. Additionally, she was her political party's nominee for the Alabama State House of representatives in 1998 and 2002. Recently, Ms. Smith returned to Florida to live closer to her parents, sons, cousins, and friends. Currently, Ms. Smith is teaching at Okaloosa-Walton College.
