People say that Mickey Hudson and Florida Virtual School were made for each other. Both are well known, and both are well trusted to deliver high quality customer service.
Mr. Hudson is also well known for his ability to understand the needs of people throughout Florida ’s panhandle. From the people in his hometown of Bonifay, to the schools and school districts he serves as an e-learning manager, Mr. Hudson’s friends and clients all feel well served and cared about.
In part, Mr. Hudson’s ability to connect with so many people comes from his extensive background and experience. He has taught at Bonifay’s elementary and middle schools. He served as the technology specialist at Holmes County High School . He also served as a technology integration consultant for the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium, training teachers on the most efficient ways to use technology. He later assumed the position of manager of the consortium’s Electronic Professional Development Center . Immediately before joining FLVS, Mr. Hudson served as the Holmes County specialist for ESE technology, transition and parent support.
Despite his varied background, deep roots connect Mr. Hudson to his home and his profession. In Bonifay, he serves as a state certified volunteer firefighter. Both his parents were educators, his father serving as an assistant superintendent in Holmes County, and his mother serving as an assistant principal. Mr. Hudson’s wife Melissa is also a veteran educator, currently teaching third grade.
Mr. Hudson earned his Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida . His Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education was awarded by Troy State University . Mr. Hudson holds teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, and Educational Leadership.
