Michele Marbra

Michele Marbra

English II
Florida Virtual School

Michele Marbra has an extensive background in the print and visual media. However, she acknowledges her special interest in reading when she says, “Reading is the foundation on which all other subjects are based.” It is that same interest that she shares with all her online students at Florida Virtual School.

A passion for reading and a compassion for her students are the hallmarks of Mrs. Marbra’s eight-year teaching career. This approach to teaching resulted in her nomination on four occasions as her school’s Teacher of the Year. She was also twice nominated for Who’s Who of American Teachers. Today, she is especially pleased to teach at FLVS where she can provide individualized instruction based on individual student learning styles.

Mrs. Marbra has taught English I, Intensive Reading, and Journalism I, II, III, and IV at Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, Florida. Her background in media was employed earlier in her career when she worked as a production assistant at a radio and television station.

Mrs. Marbra credits her experiences as a mother of two young children as another significant influence on her teaching. Her compassion, patience and kindness for her family translate into her strong desire for her students’ success.

Mrs. Marbra’s Bachelor of Science degree is in Telecommunications from the University of Florida. As a University of Florida graduate, she is an avid fan of the Gators football team.
