Meghan Chase Freeman says that teaching is the most rewarding investment a person can make. It is an investment that pays big dividends both now and in the future. And teachers have the special privilege of seeing their investment grow day after day.
Ms. Chase Freeman’s investment strategy involves building relationships of shared knowledge, integrity and trust with her students. Each day in class, she strives to create an empowering and creative learning environment where thoughts and ideas are the coin of the realm. Her approach requires patience and persistence, but her return on investment increases each day.
Ms. Chase Freeman chose English has her subject because of her love for literature and learning. She sums up her feelings with one of her favorite quotations from Charles Eliot, “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends. They area the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”
Prior to joining the Florida Virtual School faculty, Ms. Chase Freeman taught for six years at Dr. Phillips High School in Orange County, Florida. She believes that FLVS provides a visionary learning environment for both students and teachers, an environment in which ideas are valued, and have the time and opportunity to be nurtured.
Ms. Chase Freeman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Georgia. She was a competitive gymnast for ten years. Today she, her husband and toddler daughter live in Winter Park, Florida with their two Yorkshire terriers Bronco Billy and Ruby.
