During her twenty-five
years in the field of human resources, Margot George experienced
a wide variety of work environments. Whether working for a nation-wide
hotel chain, or a school district with more than 20,000 employees,
Ms. George creatively addressed the needs of both employer and
employee.
Ms. George brought her wealth of her experience to the job of implementing the Human Resource Department at Florida Virtual School. Her
approach involves providing employees with choices, thereby empowering them to take authority and responsibility for their job functions. She
says that it is this vision of flexibility that first attracted her FLVS.Ms George also believes
that the unique character of FLVS provides new opportunities
for a proactive approach to human resource management. Her solid
knowledge of employment regulations combined with an “outside
the box” way of thinking allow Ms. George to expertly guide
employment practices in her school’s dynamic environment.
Ms. George’s background
also suggests her special interest in education. After her successful
career in business, Ms. George became a substitute teacher in
Orange County Public Schools. Her classroom experience was then
followed by rapid advancement in the school district’s personnel
and employee benefits departments.
