Lisa Paez entered the business world at the age of fourteen working for a grocery store. After several years in retail, she worked in banking and corporate training. Her next step involved taking her education and experience into the world of teaching.
Teaching Business Education courses was a natural choice for Ms. Paez. She believes that “everything we do in daily life, and everything we consume and touch is created by business.” She also believes that students with a good educational background have wonderful opportunities for becoming successful in their professional lives.
As a teacher, Ms. Paez’ background and experience combine with her compassion for students. She offers herself as a sympathetic guide for students who are sorting out their place in the world. She provides them with academic help as well as encouragement for achieving their personal goals. She believes that by choosing to be a teacher, she has also chosen to share in the excitement of her students’ success.
Ms. Paez began teaching Business Education in Palm Beach County Schools. She also taught online Adult Education and ESOL for Palm Beach and Orange County Schools. Hearing about the exceptional success of Florida Virtual School in the use of online technology, she chose to become a member of the school’s faculty. She has served on the board of two statewide consortiums and several state educational task forces. While still in banking, she was awarded Employee of the Year recognition.
Ms. Paez earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Education for Palm Beach Atlantic College in West Palm Beach, Florida where she graduated with the Keystone Award for Excellence.
