Kimberly Rugh serves as an English instructor and mentor for FLVS.
Mrs. Rugh received her B.A. in English (1991) and her M.Ed. in English
Education (1992) from the University of Florida. She has been teaching
English since 1992. In Orange County, Mrs. Rugh served as an English
instructor with Edgewater High School's Engineering, Science, and
Technology (EST) magnet program. As an instructor in the EST magnet
program, she worked with a team of teachers to deliver exciting, integrated
lessons combining technology with English and History. Furthermore, Mrs.
Rugh achieved her National Board Certification (2001), in the area of
Adolescent/Young Adult English Language Arts.
Mrs. Rugh thoroughly enjoys teaching English and she believes that students
need a solid basis in reading, writing, speaking and listening in order to
be successful in any career or educational pursuit. When she is not
teaching, Mrs. Rugh enjoys spending time with her family, reading,
exercising, shopping, and traveling. She and her family attend many Gator
sporting events, and they are known for being huge Gator fans!
Mrs. Rugh
lives in Maitland with her husband, son, daughter, and her dog, a Labrador
Retriever named Norman.
