For Kim Bonadies, motivation
is the key to her teaching career. Her choice to become an English
teacher was motivated by her strong interest in reading and
writing. Today, her ability to motivate students is driven by
her desire to share that same interest with her students.
Prior to teaching, Ms.
Bonadies explored many other interests. While in college, she
was a certified aerobics instructor. She was also employed as
an administrative assistant for a brokerage firm in New York
City. For the past four years, she has concentrated on her most
important calling, helping students achieve their academic goals.
Ms. Bonadies believes
that Florida Virtual School offers unique flexibility for teachers
and students to study outside the classroom, while still maintaining
the ability to share their ideas and experiences.
During her career, Ms.
Bonadies has been recognized many times for her teaching ability.
She was named as her school’s Teacher of the Month, and has
been nominated several times for the Golden Apple Award. She
was also recognized by the Chancellor of New York City Schools
for her outstanding performance as a student teacher.
Ms. Bonadies earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from St. John’s
University in New York.
