Keith Bland knew he wanted a career that involved athletics and competition. He also wanted to help students experience the kind of success that comes from putting forth their best effort. For the past 12 years, he has combined all these interests into his job as a teacher and a coach.

While in college at the University of Memphis, Mr. Bland experienced personal success as an athlete when he was named to the All-Metro Conference Football team for two years in a row. In his senior year, he was also named to the All-Southern Independent Football team.

Mr. Keith’s teaching career includes eight years at Bay High School in Panama City, Florida, then two years as P.E. teacher, Football Coach and Athletic Director at Apalachicola High in Franklin County, Florida. Later, he taught Physical Education at Mosley High in Panama City, where he now serves as an assistant principal.

As a member of the Florida Virtual School faculty, Mr. Bland coaches his Personal Fitness students in developing their own individual fitness programs. By setting and achieving goals for exercise and good diet, his students create lifelong habits for good health.

Mr. Bland earned his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Memphis.
