Julie Russo has identified
the things that are most important in her life. She says reading
is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and writing offers exciting
ways for expressing who we are and what we feel. She also says
that the job of teaching gives purpose and direction to her
professional life.
Ms. Russo’s love of language
underlies her choice of English as her field of certification.
That love of language also supports her ability to communicate
openly and effectively with students. The result is a rapport
between teacher and student that keeps the focus on learning
and the potential for success high.
Ms. Russo’s teaching
career began nine years ago right out of college. During that
time, she has taught English II and III in Hillsborough County,
Florida. She joined the faculty of Florida Virtual School to
share her passion for learning with students in a virtual learning
environment regardless of where they may live.
The goal for all of Ms.
Russo’s teaching is to help students become successful as they
develop a passion for language and learning. Her greatest accomplishment
occurs each time a student returns to express appreciation for
the experience of reading and writing in a passionately taught
class.
Ms. Russo earned her
Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Florida
State University.
