Gerald Earley’s ambition was to coach students. Initially he though his coaching would occur on the baseball diamond. He quickly discovered, however, that the classroom would be his true playing field. He also discovered that teaching health and personal fitness was where his students needed him most.
For the first six years of his teaching career, Mr. Earley was a full-time high school teacher and coach in the Miami area. His passion for health was quickly passed on to his students. Mr. Earley’s enthusiasm worked just as effectively in the FLVS online environment where his individualized approach helped all students understand and internalize the message.
In presenting the message that good decisions are important for healthy living, Mr. Earley says that honesty and respect is everything. Students know when a teacher really cares. And Mr. Earley is pleased to share his sincere pride when his students succeed.
Mr. Earley’s enthusiasm and instructional effectiveness have resulted in his receiving several awards including a Beginning Teacher of the Year nomination, Coach of the Year 2001, Appreciation of Commitment 2001, and an Outstanding Leadership Award 2002.
Mr. Earley earned his B.S. in Education with a minor in Social Science from Barry University . He is currently working on his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University .
Gerald Earley is now coaching teachers as an Instructional Leader. Mr. Earley feels the same honesty and respect he showed toward his students is equally important in administration.
