Desiré Mosser is a multi-faceted person. She is a dedicated teacher who has the ability to relate to a variety of students ranging from adults to preschoolers. She loves to study animals in the wild, as well as specimens through a microscope. She also knows how to bring joy to those who are ill as a Certified Therapeutic Clown.
Mrs. Mosser is also a mother who is glad to have the flexibility of teaching online while caring for the needs of her young son. As a member of the Florida Virtual School faculty, Mrs. Mosser is making science exciting even for students who enter her class with little interest in the subject. She is especially pleased that the online environment allows her to work one-on-one with students, ensuring that their individual needs are met.
Mrs. Mosser’s teaching career has enabled her to teach young children how to observe the larger world around them. As a teacher of secondary-level Chemistry, and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Biology and Physics, she has taught older students how to observe, analyze, hypothesize and test their conclusions.
As a teacher of Earth/Space Science, Mrs. Mosser invites her students to become scientists and explorers. In the process, they recognize their own place in the history and current environment of the earth.
Mrs. Mosser earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Science from Florida State University. She also holds an A.A. degree in Early Education from Saint Pete College.
